We carefully laid out the opening, reframed the wall, and installed a new header to properly support the structure above the door. Once the framing was complete, we finished the surrounding drywall so the new opening looked like it was part of the original construction rather than an afterthought.

Outside the new door, we built a custom picture-frame step to create a clean and finished transition between the garage and the backyard. The picture-frame detail gives the step a more refined appearance while providing a durable and practical landing area directly outside the door. A Door Built for the Whole Family

The homeowners also wanted their pets to be able to access the backyard without requiring someone to open the door every time. To accomplish this, we installed a doggie door directly into the new utility door.
